The ruckus has been all about writing. Students have been reading about incredible personal narratives, authors telling true stories about their life. These authors have shown us how to tell a "seed story" from a "watermelon topic" by stretching the details. Salt Hands by Jane Aragon was definitely a favorite. The students are trying their hand at this type of writing and are learning a lot!
In reading, comrades have begun Read to Someone to build their fluency, check their understanding, and have FUN!
Fabulous, Fun, Fridays have been a real hit with the kids. From Friday Riddles, to French Culture, to classroom Phys. Ed, the kids are doing engaging activities that incorporate all their learning styles!
Math has us continuing to work with COUNTING forwards and backwards starting with any number from 0 to 100, while some are even working beyond 100! Thanks, parents for all the counting you've been doing at home :)
