It is almost impossible to believe that first term has come to an end. I always feel like we just get to know each other and get things rolling and all the sudden first term is over. Nonetheless, we have had a successful first term and done a lot of good quality learning.
Highlights included:
-Learning about predicting, retelling and the story elements with our Kevin Henkes author study.
-Publishing our first class book (The Important Book)
-Telling the stories of our lives and publishing individual books.
-Mastering our partners to 10 inside our and backwards.
-Counting forward and backwards by 10’s and 1’s.
-A visit from the Pumpkin Elf.
Today Report Cards are coming home. I could not be more proud of all the hard work these children have done. Each one of them has made progress and that is truly what is most important. All children learn at their own pace.
Take this time to read through my comments and next steps. Talk with your child about what they have done well and also set goals for term two.
I am also sending Brag Books home today. Please review the items in the Right Back to School side and send them back to me. The activities in the Left at Home side can find a home on your fridge. ;)
Next week is Parent/Teacher interviews. I am looking forward to meeting with you and discussing the progress they have made. I will be prepared to provide you with further suggestions and tools to help support your little learner.
Thanks for your continued support.
Miss J
